For a little girl I made a small owl from pulled sugar, then I decided to make an owl cake too :)

Cake competition (children cakes)

I wanted to make a vanity smurf cake (orange spongcake with chocolate ganache and cranberry jam filling) but it didn't come out as I wanted, so I made a frog (vanila cake withboth milk and dark chocolate ganache filling called the "princess") instead. The cakes were to be given as presents to kids who won in the children drawings competition, so there had to be 16 cakes altogether. The competiton was in Komárom (about 70 kms from here). I took both cakes thinking that somebody might not come or if it is not needed I'd drop it off at my sister's on the way home. As it was, we were a cake short, so I "entered" the smurf cake too. Neither of my cakes won anything, but at least I tried :)

Cookies and cake for my Mom's birthday

"képviselőfánk" is one of her favourite cookies so I tried to make some for the day itself.

we had the celebration on Saturday, the cake is orange spongecake with chocolate cream and cranberry jam filling, marzipan orchids for ecorations (made by me :)

For a 9th birthday, orange spongecake with chocolate ganace, trüffel and cranberry jam filling, covered by rollable white chocolate (painted with food coloring). It was about 26 cm (cc. 10 inches) high.

Flower cakes:
1. for a birthday, orange spongcake with "oroszkrém" filling (vanillia cream with raisin and fruits soaked in rum), covered with marzipan. Marzipan flowers

2. using up the leftovers from cake no.1., using orange cream filling and covered with rollable chocolate.
